Home Energy Assessment

home energy auditThe first phase of the Cleveland Energy$aver program is a home energy assessment conducted by a trained, qualified home energy auditor in partnership with Cleveland Energy$aver. During the energy assessment, this certified home energy professional will evaluate your home for signs of energy waste and other building problems -- missing insulation, air leaks, leaky windows and doors, leaky ducts and more. Using infrared thermography, blower testing and other diagnostic tools, the energy auditor will be able to determine where the bulk of the energy waste is taking place in your home, and identify the most cost-effective steps to improve your home's energy efficiency.

Within 5 - 7 business days following the assessment, you will receive an energy assessment report with efficiency recommendations and cost estimates. Suggested improvements might include:

  • Attic insulation
  • Furnace replacements
  • Programmable thermostats
  • New windows and doors*
  • Water-saving devices

The most cost-effective improvements will vary from home to home, and it's completely up to you which qualifying improvements you'd like to make.

*Windows and doors may be upgraded provided that your total home energy improvement package has a payback period of 10 years or less.
